Lost Hope Fairy Gown
A few of us who are fans of the book/series Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell decided it would be fun to do fairies from the Gentleman with the Thistledown Hair's sinister manor - Lost Hope. Mine is basically a regular changeable green/white silk regency gown with a sequined net open robe that I hand beaded with clear and iridescent beads and black freshwater pearls . I wanted it to look sort of like fairy finery that had been drowned and tattered or left in the sea - a Lady in a Gown the Color of Shipwreck.
I still need to finish all my accessories but I'm pleased with how it turned out!
P.S. You can catch a glimpse of the iridescent green pointy-toed flats I found on ebay to go with it.

DeleteHand beaded? Yoicks! Must have taken WEEKS!! Kudos.
ReplyDeleteNOT hand-sequined mind you, the fabric came that way. ;) I just beaded the edges of the sleeves and hem.
DeleteI could so steal that dress! And the shoes are amazing as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The shoes are pretty crazy shiny in real life, hopefully I won't blind anyone. :P
